USE OF SURGICAL SUTURES
A surgical suture is a medical device used to hold body tissues together after an injury or surgery. The application generally involves using a needle with an attached length of thread. A number of different shapes, sizes, and thread materials have been developed over its millennia of history.
All sutures are classified as either absorbable or non-absorbable depending on whether the body will naturally degrade and absorb the suture material over time. Absorbable suture materials include the original catgut as well as the newer synthetics polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid, polydioxanone, and caprolactone. Non-absorbable sutures are made of special silk or synthetics polypropylene, polyester or nylon.
HIGH-TECHNICALLY MANUFACTURED SURGICAL SUTURES
While most surgical sutures are manufactured with the normal process of manual cut and attachment, we started our production line of surgical sutures with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment from the European Union: an automated suture crimping machine—the twelfth one in the whole world and the first one in Asia.
Along with the automatic manufacturing process, we proudly are the first and only surgical sutures manufacturer in Vietnam that offers a model of anti-bacterial surgical sutures. The sutures are coated with silver nanoparticles which can reduce the possibility of post-surgery infection. MEDEP MESIGHT® has been validated through a clinical investigation whose results show that the sutures are able to reduce the need for long staying in hospital after surgery.
Complying with the requirements of the U.S Pharmacopeia, all MEDEP® Surgical Sutures minimalize tissue reaction, allow soft passage through the tissue, and good knot tie-down. High tensile strength provides excellent tissue support.
MEDEP® Surgical Sutures are manufactured under a BSI-certified Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 13485:2016 and EN ISO 13485:2016 for medical devices.
